Share Your Battle – TENYII STRIKER

“A dozen generations sandwiched between the hammer of the Khans’ cruelty and the anvil of the icy foothills of Kurguzd forged the Tenyii into reclusive deadly foes. Brought to the training creche from birth, taught to steal for food, beaten when caught, and trained daily with the sword and spear as soon as they were strong enough for their hands to lift steel, the Tenyii clan were hard as iron and as fierce and silent as midnight on the mountain glacier. When the Legion’s heralds demanded a sacrifice of flesh and gold to open the rifts to the ways beyond, the Khan sent five hundred waadin berserkers to bring the tribe to heel. When a single horse returned bearing a sack of fifty skulls, the Khan threatened to burn the entire mountain to the ground. A dozen Tenyii Strikers were sent as tribute to spare the tribes and to satisfy the herald’s call.”

STATS.png

How are all of you fellow Splinterlanders and Splintercurious doing today? Are you digging the new SPS ranked rewards? I think it’s a great thing they get staked right away. This should bring stability to the coin, but it may make it harder to get guild members to donate DEC.

The Tenyii Striker is absolutely a must-have card. I would like to MAX it, but it’s a bit expensive. I currently have a gold foil level 3 and a standard level 2. I’ve recently started using the Splinterrents bot on my secondary account to earn DEC so I’ll send one over there after it gets unlocked. After battling with the damn bots for all these years, I’m happy to be using one in my favor finally.

My Battle

battle.jpg

Sometimes when I make one of these share your battle posts I’ll have to fight several battles with the card of the week to either win or make it relevant, but I got lucky today.

2.png

The Tenyii Striker was able to take out their fiend in the rear with its sneak attack, but my enemy was using Mylor Crowling as their summoner. Mylor Crowling causes two points of damage anytime you attack any of their cards so I lost my ram.

3.png

It was 3 to 1 by the third round.

4.png

Tenyii Striker killed their tank in the fourth round but also died because of those pesky thorns. Luckily I put the fiend in the rear and was able to pull off an exciting victory.

Join our Guild

Have you racked up a bunch of merits and looking to join a guild? If you are a gold-level player or have a bunch of gold foil cards then the Mandalorians would love to have you. We usually finish in about 4th place and have a good community. We have two open slots and two inactive members. We only ask that you donate 300 DEC each season and that you are never without your weapons and never remove your helmet showing another living creature your face.

Share Your Battle – VENARI SPELLSMITH

There are those who may think the Realm of Silence is a place of deep dark caverns. That could not be further from the truth. It is a region like any other in the Splinterlands that is full of homes, cities, and cultures. There are even universities that specialize in the study of magic, music, and geography. One such >underground species that excels in academia are the Venari. They created the Institute of Application which acts as a center of study for spells and tinkering. Those who wish to become fluent in spellcasting train to become Spellsmiths: masters of creating and using spells. It is through this knowledge they research and experiment with magic in order to unlock new ways to harness mana and the elemental forces. A Venari Spellsmith is so dedicated to the art of spellcasting that magic itself became a part of them. While they themselves can manipulate magic to damage foes, magic burns through their veins. Upon death the radiating Mana explodes from their bodies, harming everyone around the Venari.

  • Splinterlands Lore

Stats

stats.png

The Venari Spellsmith is an interesting card when maxed out with the redemption ability which causes one damage to all enemy cards when it dies. You should at least get this card up to level 4 where it has the amplify ability which increases magic reflect, return fire, and thorn abilities by one. It has the redemption ability from the get-go which removes all positive effects on each card it strikes.

My Battle

1.jpg

This was a battle where healing was not allowed and every card was equalized which means they all have the same health as the strongest card selected from either team.

1.png

My enemy went with two strong melee cards and a ranged attack card while I relied mostly on magic.

2.png

Things usually don’t go your way when you lose your tank card, but I had two cards with the life leech ability which absorbs life points from your enemy with every hit.

3.png

Now I’ve lost my secondary tank. It’s up to my Venari Spellsmith to hold the line.

4.png

I’ve taken out their tank so there’s still a chance for victory.

5.png

Now it’s 3 to 2. Good thing one of my cards can poison the enemy. The poison takes away two health each round.

6.png

Ranged attack cards can’t usually attack while in the front so this battle is mine.

7.png

You can really rack up some health with the life leech ability. The most I’ve ever seen is about 30. How high have you been able to get your life points with life leech?

Share Your Battle – DRAGONS

Another week, another Splinterlands battle challenge. How are all you fellow monster lovers doing? Have you heard the good news? Our game is expanding to the world of football, err… I mean soccer. While I’m not a fan of the sport, I’m very excited about Splinterlands going mainstream. SPS stakeholders will also be getting airdropped the new game’s currency. I wish I had stocked up on more SPS, but I did use my daily airdrops to pick up the cards I needed so it’s all good.

battle (1).jpg

I like learning about new cards I’ve overlooked each week, but I also love showing off my dragons!

Djinn Chwala.png

For this battle, I chose Djinn Chwala as my tank or first card.

stats.png

Djinn Chwala is a card I’m sure you’re aware of since it’s a reward card. I had a few extra DEC laying around so I decided to max it out.

max.png

I got a little too excited about finally maxing out this card and overdid it.

woops.png

Luckily the system didn’t combine all of my cards like I told it to and only overmaxed the card by 6. That’s OK. I’m happy to help burn down this wonderful card and now I have a few extras to sell or gift to friends for the future.

battle.png

My enemy also used a tank with thorns, but mine had shields.

Twilight Basilisk.png

My Twilight Basilisk and its reach and stun ability were also a big help in this fight.

2.png

I lost my archer in the first round, but at least she got a shot off before she died.

end.png

In the end, it came down to their archer which was last week’s battle challenge card. Archers usually can’t fire while in the front so this was an easy win.

focus.png

Thanks for reading about my battle today. How are you adapting to the new daily focuses? I love anything that brings confusion to my enemies and the bots. Here’s the list in case you need it. Have a great day.

Share Your Battle – SOUL STRANGLER

Before the chaos gate opened, the towering city of Darkholde was peaceful and quiet. Situated in the cold, Blackworth mountain range, it was presided over by a long-standing noble family and governed by Baron Kutziq Neculai. If the citizens knew the truth about their governor, then maybe they wouldn’t have been so loyal, but the Baron’s tastes were sated with great restraint and he honestly did care for them, taking only what he must and never more than he had to, for Kutziq was a vampire, a race as ancient as the stones they’d used to build the city. He was a man who loved his people in many ways, including their unique flavor. The soul strangler is a creature of nobility, good stock, and incredible wealth. They live in lavish opulence, wearing the finest attire and moving in the most sophisticated of circles, often engaging with the high born from other cities and enjoying intimate gatherings that last for days. However, when this vampire chooses to hunt, they take on a whole new guise, almost shifting their form to become more accomplished for the chase. Pointed ears extend refining their hearing and their eyes change color affording the ability to see in the dark – their preferred time to hunt. Long fangs grow from their mouth and vicious talons sprout from their fingers. But what you can’t see in either form is the power they hold within their mind, an ability to attack at a spiritual level when they eventually find their adversary, squeezing the very life from them; a ranged attack that if not avoided, will have devastating consequences.

-Splinterlands Lore

Soul Strangler’s stats:

stats.png

A few friends and family who also battle in the Splinterlands have suggested I choose the Soul Strangler when I was choosing my cards, but I’ve only used him a few times. One thing I’d like to see added to the stats page is personal stats. How many times have you used this card? What was the win rate? Maybe there’s a third-party website that does do that. If so, please share in the comments.

The Soul Strangler is a pretty good card for only 3 mana. Since I don’t have any of my summoners maxed out yet I’ll wait to max this guy out because he only gains the poison ability at level 8. I only had him at level one, but after looking at these stats I think I’ll at least level him up to level 3 where he’ll cause 3 points of damage.

My battle:

battle.jpg

This was a battle with only 13 mana and melee cards not allowed so I put my Haunted Spirit out front to take a few hits so my Venari Bonesmith and Soul Strangler could finish them off. It was also a battle where ranged attack cards could fire from the front so my Soul Strangler could still attack if it ended up being the last card, but it didn’t come to that. I don’t know why my opponent put their healer out front. That’s never a good idea.

2.png

Luckily, my opponent didn’t choose any sneak attack cards so my Soul Strangler was safe to attack from the rear.

3.png

In the end, my opponent took the bait while my Venari Bonesmith and Soul Strangler finished them off. The only card I lost was the Haunted Spirit.

SPLINTERLANDS: Hitting em with random scattershots

Portals Spinners are members of the Cult of the Rift, a faction within the Chaos Legion that harnesses rift magic to cast deadly spells. Portal Spinners siphon life magic from their surroundings to open mini-rifts in the fabric of reality. Some thought to use these portals to travel between realms. However, after attempting to do so, many a Portal Spinner was consumed by whatever foul beasts dwelled on the other side of the portal. Others emerged… rearranged… and either dead or wishing they were dead. Now, Portal Spinners simply use their portals to launch chaotic and random attacks against their enemies. They might open one portal beneath a fallen sword, boulder, or other weapons of convenience and a second portal above their enemies, sending the weapon through the rift and crashing down on its unsuspecting victim. If facing enemies capable of flight, Portal Spinners have been known to use their portals to drop nets upon their foes, grounding them.

stats.png

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever used the Portal Spinner until today. I usually try to rely on magic attacks because they can pass right through the enemy’s armor, but the Portal Spinner has Scattershot from level one which can really come in handy. Scattershot will shoot arrows at random enemies so it can kill off some of the weaker ones if you’re lucky. The Snare ability kicks in at level 5. I’ve never been a fan of this ability so I’ll probably just let this card level up naturally by combining cards I earn rather than purchasing any of them. I really like maxing out rare cards that are just over a cent right now because you can do so for just a few dollars, something that is only possible in a bear market.

mybattle.png

My enemy had a pretty good strategy using three magic cards and two ranged.

battle2.png

After my first tank died, I was afraid I was going to lose this one.

battle3.png

After my second tank died, I was sure I was done for.

end.png

Luckily my Chaos Dragon was able to hold the line. The Portal Spinner was a big help in this battle because he weakened random targets.

Thanks for reading about my Portal Spinner battle. It’s not my favorite card, but I learned how it could be useful today. What about you? Have you used it much? Did you bother maxing it out?

SPLINTERLANDS: The Hill Giant smashed my enemy for a flawless victory

Hill Giants live in the Talus Bluffs on the outskirts of the volcano known as the Mountain of Ash. They are nomadic people that travel from hilltop to hilltop following herds of deer and cattle. Though they are intimidating, Hill Giants are typically far more inquisitive of other cultures and seek to learn from them rather than attack. However, if they need to defend themselves, they attack by ripping boulders from the ground and are able to hurl them up to a mile. The people of Praetoria are glad to have them on their side against the Chaos Legion.

Hill Giant’s Stats

stats.png

This is a pretty good card for only 3 mana. If there is a battle where melee cards can attack from any position his ability to stun will come in handy. I want to max out every card I own, but that’s not possible on my budget right now so I’m happy to have this guy at level 6. If there is a battle where only cards with 4 mana or less are allowed, he can make for a great tank.

My Battle Strategy

This was a battle where only monsters with level 4 mana or lower were allowed so the Hill Giant was the perfect card because he’s only 3 mana but has 7 life points. Since it was also an equalizer match he raised all other cards to have 7 life points.

battle.png

One thing I like to do every battle is making sure every card has a role. Every card should bring something to the table. Since the Hill Giant is pretty slow, I used Brownie the monkey to speed him up and the Creeping Ooze to slow the enemy down.

half.png

The Wood Nymph did a good job of keeping my Hill Giant alive by healing him every round as well as attacking the enemy with magic.

end.png

The Naga Assasin is very fast and was able to quickly strike two points of ranged attack every round and the Dhampir Infiltrator did a good job of sneaking around back and finishing off the enemy from the rear.

In the end, all of my cards were still standing. I know I’ve said this many times, but I’d really like to see a bonus for perfect victories like this one. We can’t rip off from Mortal Kombat and call it a flawless victory, but maybe we could call it a perfect victory, or a dominant win. What do you think it should be called?

SPLINTERLANDS: Flying Squid out of the water survives an earthquake for the win

Although Flying Squid is not truly capable of flight, their moniker comes from their ability to launch themselves from the water and glide above the surface for long distances before resubmerging. These aggressive predators shoot ink into the eyes of their prey to blind them before attacking with their lengthy tentacles. “

Splinterlands Lore

stats.png

I don’t think I’ve ever used or noticed the Flying Squid until today. It has an interesting ability at level six, blind. It also has the reach ability from the get-go and a decent amount of life so it can function as a good secondary tank. I doubt I ever max this card out for its backfire ability because it’s a bit pricy at ten cents a card, but I’ll try to get it up to level six soon. I’ve been kind of a bottom scraper recently and getting as many cards under a penny as I can. It’s actually been cheaper maxing out some rare cards than common ones because common cards need 400 to max out, while rares only need 115.

mybattle.png

I usually select on the abilities box and choose the flying ability or use the dragon summoner who grants everybody flight when there’s an earthquake, but I thought my Sea Monster and its self-healing ability would be enough to win this wild battle.

How are you liking the new Wild -vs- Modern formats? At first, I thought that it would be a piece of cake to level up in modern, but I’ve found I do much better in the wild format. Since the collection power to get to the Diamond league is half of what it is in wild, I’ll still keep trying, but I’ll take a few days off to let the competition get a bit weaker. I’ve noticed that if you feel you are getting smashed, it’s best to take a break for a day or two then you can do much better plus your capture rate will be at 100%. Splinterlands is one of the few places where procrastination can be a good thing.

end.png

Even though the Flying Squid can’t actually fly, it had enough life to survive the earthquake and was the last card standing.

It’s raining diamonds at CoinMarketCap!

How are all you fellow crypto and NFT freaks doing today? I know I don’t need to tell you about CoinMarketCap because they’re one of the OG websites in the crypto game, but you may not know about their daily diamond giveaway.

cc.jpg

Just like you, if I type just the letter C into my address bar, it will suggest CoinMarketCap and then CoinBase, but I’m here to suggest that you start checking your coins from your phone rather than your PC from now on…

list.jpg

The best thing about checking coins from the app -vs- the website is that it only shows the coins that YOU care about. I don’t give a fuck that ETH is a popular coin. I hate it. I don’t want to see it. I hope it fails. That’s like, my opinion man. When you push on the star icon, it remembers that it’s a coin you like and it will only show that.

collect.jpg

Most of us probably check CoinMarketCap every day anyway so we might as well collect some diamonds each time we do right?

What good are these diamonds anyways?

Right now, to be honest, they are pretty worthless. If you take a look at the NFTs that you can redeem the diamonds for, they all suck. I want a Batman or Iron Man NFT, but right now what they are handing out is crap. Whatever. One day a cool one that you will like will come along and by that time, you’ll have collected thousands of diamonds and will easily afford the one you want.

security.jpg

Whoever invented the “click on all the images that show a bus” security verification should burn in hell. Seriously, if I come across a website that does that shit, I will block it and never visit it ever again, but this slide the puzzle piece into place one isn’t so bad.

rever.jpg

If you can refer your friends, you’ll get even more diamonds. I doubt I get any referrals from ya’ll, but it’s worth a shot, right? What kind of NFTs do you want?

Battle of the Antoids – Learning from our defeats

How are you doing fellow Splinterlands warriors? Are you taking advantage of this bear market? If you check out some of the cheapest cards on the market now, you can get cards for less than a cent. That means you can max out cards for less than $4 now. I personally love it. I’ve never been able to max out so many cards for so cheap. I think the team’s move to have a wild and modern format is a beautiful idea. If things remain how they are now it isn’t fair. If you’re an OG player you may be mad that the old cards that you HODLed for so long are getting smashed by the newer cards and if you’re a newer player, it can be frustrating going up against old cards that seem invincible and way out of your budget, but both sides should be happier when the choice is given to battle in either wild or modern formats soon.

stats.png

The Antoid Platoon gets interesting at level six when they have the scavenger ability where they will gain health when either an enemy or friendly warrior dies. Even at level one, they can be useful with the shield ability which reduces melee and ranged damage. I don’t know if I’ll ever max this card out, but I plan to get it up to level six soon. It would cost about the same to level up the standard card as it would the gold foil version, so I’ll go with gold.

firelover.png

One of the biggest mistakes I think players make is rushing into battle before checking out the enemy. I could see my enemy loved using the fire splinter and only had a level two summoner so I thought I’d smash them for sure using my powerful dragons.

mybattle.png

I put my Antoid Platoon out front while my enemy used them as a secondary tank. I love using Quix the Devious because he’s a strong dragon summoner who reduces the enemy’s speed and ranged attacks, but my enemy didn’t use any ranged attacks, and speed didn’t make much of a difference in this fight.

mid.png

I was surprised to see my enemy smash up my team because they were using all common and rare cards while I had much better and more expensive cards, but they used the ruleset and had a better strategy than I did.

end.png

Even though my card was legendary, it couldn’t do any damage to their Antoid Platoon because it was demoralized by their Disintegrator.

Antoid Platoon.png

Thanks for reading about my battle today. Even though I lost, it was still a learning experience. It also shows what a great game Splinterlands is. Even though I was using twice the power of my enemy, they had a better plan and deserved to win. I don’t think I’ll ever put my Antoid Platoon out front ever again unless it’s a battle where only 4 mana and fewer cards are allowed. What about you? Which strategy and cards would’ve you used?

SPLINTERLANDS: Archers -vs- Dragons

Howdy fellow Splinterfolks. Today I’d like to share my battle for this week’s battle challenge using the Xenith Archer.

The Xenith Scale is devoted to enlightenment, knowledge, and the protection of others. Members among the order practice to remain balanced in all things and believe Mana, too, should remain balanced. It should not be used to cause chaos or disorder, nor should it be used to tip the scales of justice in either direction. The order believes in fate and that everything has its proper place. Fate and destiny are predetermined, and they should not be altered. Archers adhere to this creed in their everyday life. They often say, an arrow must be perfectly balanced on a bow string to hit its mark. If it sits too far forward or too far back it won’t be able to sail through the air. Like all Xenith warriors, archers would much prefer to find a peaceful solution to a problem or stay out of an altercation altogether. When they are pulled into a fight, they see it as a way to restore balance to a situation.”

Splinterlands lore

stats.png

The Xenith Archer doesn’t have any abilities other than being beautiful. She can be useful if you need to use a low mana card during a battle in which only even cards are allowed.

mybattle.png

This was a battle where all cards lose their abilities so I chose a fast tank and some archers while my opponent chose to rely on magic and dragons.

Furious Chicken.png

I put the Furious Chicken out front to absorb the first strike. My opponent had the same idea with the Gargoya Scrapper.

Phantasm.png

The Phantasm is pretty fast so it got a few strikes in before the enemy killed it too.

half.png

After their Diamond Dragon was dead it was my three archers against their Void Dragon.

Corpse Fiend.png

Since it was also a battle where melee cards can attack from anywhere, my Corpse Fiend was able to get a few strikes in and take up the front spot for a while so the archers could do their job.

end.png

Dragons and magic cards usually win, but not today. This battle was won by the archers.
